Austrian academies open for Montenegrin cadets

Podgorica, (MINA) – Defense ministers of Montenegro and Austria Predrag Boskovic and Mario Kunasek signed in Podgorica on Tuesday the letter of intent which enabled Montenegrin cadets studying in Austrian military academies.

Boskovic told the press, following signing of the letter, that Austria and Montenegro have been cherishing good relations for decades, and are trying to raise it to higher level.

According to him, regardless the fact that Austria is not a NATO member, the two countries are developing good bilateral military relations, cooperating in a number of activities and participate together in many military exercises.

Kunasek said that the meeting revealed the possibility of expanding bilateral cooperation.

“I want once again to stress Montenegro’s stability factor role in the region, and that it one of the reasons you are on the best possible path and are closing the EU with big steps”, said Kunasek.

He stressed that the Western Balkans is a very important topic for Austria. “Stability and security in your region mean stability and security in the EU”.

Kunasek said that all the resources of the Austrian defense ministry will be on disposal to continue good bilateral cooperation with Montenegro. Longer version of article is available on a link MINA ENGLISH SERVIS
