Montenegro and USA share lasting partnership

Podgorica, (MINA) – Montenegro is a source of peace and stability in the region and its partnership and friendship with the United States is lasting and based on values, it was heard at a meeting between Prime Minister Dusko Markovic and U.S. Ambassador Judy Rising Reinke on Friday.

“Our exceptional bilateral relations, confirmed many times through important events for both countries, can now be elevated through strong economic cooperation,” Markovic said.

The Prime Minister stressed that today Montenegro is a free and democratic country, a member of NATO and a state that is making stable progress on the EU integration path.

Markovic remarked that Montenegro is following a strong economic agenda and is experiencing rapid development, with some of the biggest economic growth rates in Europe.

While noting that she sees commitment to the development and strengthening of institutions, Ambassador Reinke said that she wishes to dedicate her term in Montenegro to strengthening partnership within NATO and closer economic cooperation, especially in the areas of entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises.

“Montenegro is a destination where investments are safe and where investors can secure profits, but also better living standards for our citizens,” Markovic stated.
