Serbian Embassy must not give refuge to defendants

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Serbian Embassy must not give refuge to anyone who has committed a crime, Serbian politician Vuk Draskovic has stated.

Commenting on the case of Branka Milic, one of the defendants in the coup case, who fled to the Serbian Embassy in Podgorica after the court ordered her detention, Draskovic said that he believes that she will be acquitted if she is not guilty, RTCG news portal reports.

“Mrs Milic is being tried for terrorism, a serious crime, a conspiracy that involved killing the then Prime Minister of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic. If she is innocent, I’m sure she will be acquitted. If she is guilty why did she escape to the Serbian Embassy? These matters are not decided in embassies, but in courts,” Draskovic said in a talk show ‘Ziva istina’ (Naked Truth) on RTCG.
