Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Compared with the same period of 2017, the retail turnover in Montenegro increased in December of 2018 by 5.1 percent in current and 4.6 percent in constant prices.
Last year, the retail trade turnover saw a year-on-year increase by 4.6 percent in current and 3.4 percent in constant prices.
According to the official statistics, the retail trade in food saw the highest increase by 7.1 points in constant prices.
“The highest share in the overall retail turnover was that of motor fuel, which accounted for 93.5 percent of the total turnover in December,” Monstat says in a press release.
The Statistical Office says that the turnover of goods in retail trade is the value of goods the companies sold to final consumers i.e. population for personal consumption and household use, as well as to legal and natural persons for their activities.
The indexes of turnover of goods in constant prices are obtained by deflating the indexes in current prices with appropriate indexes of retail price of goods.
