Podgorica, (MINA) – Montenegro is ready to establish cooperation with Azerbaijan, especially in the field of military industry, Minister of Defense Predrag Boskovic has stated.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Defense, Boskovic met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Zakir Hasanov in Baku, Azerbaijan.
“Boskovic stressed Montenegro’s readiness to establish cooperation with Azerbaijan, especially in the field of military industry, emphasizing that defense cooperation should accompany the general bilateral relations characterized by intensive political dialogue and high level of understanding,” the press release stated.
The Minister is said to have voiced Montenegro’s support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, in accordance with the UN resolution, while expressing the expectation of a peaceful solution to the conflict in the Nagorno-Karabakh region within the Minsk negotiation process.
Zakirov said that the relations between the two counties are based on friendship and successful economic cooperation.
“He congratulated Montenegro on the accomplishment of its foreign police priority of joining NATO, as well as on the progress on the EU integration course,” the press release said.
