Nurkovic invites investors to express interest

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Osman Nurkovic, has said that the Government is committed to developing a stimulating investment climate, inviting all prospective partners to express interest in the implementation of projects.

At the third Summit of the Transport Ministers of China and Central and Eastern Europe (16+1), held in Belgrade, he placed focus on the projects that were part of the existing SEETO network.

Nurkovic reminded of the Adriatic-Ionian and the Bar-Boljare motorways, and the railroad from Bar to the border with Serbia, adding that Montenegro had prepared a single list of projects, 12 of which were dealing with transport, which was updated in 2017.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry, Nurkovic talked about the pace of works on the priority section of the Bar-Boljare motorway, connecting Smokovac and Matesevo by way of Uvac.

“He presented the action plan for other motorway sections,” the press release says, adding that four more sections are planned.

Talking about the Adriatic-Ionian motorway, Nurkovic presented the planned phases of this project.

He said that the European Union was providing technical assistance for the development of a bypass around Budva, including the preparation of a tender dossier for one part of the bypass.

In terms of the railway project, Nurkovic underlined the importance of rehabilitation of the Vrbnica-Bar railroad for Montenegro and connectivity across the whole region.  Longer version of article is available on a link MINA ENGLISH SERVIS
