No dialogue on public scene

Podgorica, (MINA) – There is virtually no dialogue in Montenegro’s public discourse and the rhetoric is increasingly heated, the Civic Alliance (GA) has stated.

In a statement marking the International Day of Democracy, the GA noted that the political stakeholders are choosing increasingly frequent tensions as their main modus operandi.

“Government structures are building a whole range of animosities against the civil society and independent media, while their lack of interest in building e-participation and e-democracy tools, and the failure to recognize their benefits, is a chronic condition,” the GA said.

According to the NGO, the citizens are being deliberately excluded from the decision-making process.

“The rhetoric of government representatives with the wholehearted support from the opposition is certain to wear out and deprive of any meaning the very notion and definition of democracy, the word that is being used increasingly often, but without any implementation or realization of its meaning,” the NGO said.
