New radar indicator of solidarity among NATO allies

Brussels, (MINA) – A new radar that NATO donated to Montenegro is a proof that the member states are helping each other, said NATO Secretary general Jens Stoltenberg.

“NATO is about solidarity and NATO is about that we protect and defend each other, we help each other. So I think the new NATO radar or the radar we provided to Montenegro shows that we actually help each other”, Stoltenberg said in a press conference ahead of the ministerial meeting of NATO defense ministers which starts in Brussels on Wednesday.

He remarked that it is the reason, especially for smaller countries to be part of NATO, because “then you’re part of a family, you’re a part of an organization where we support and help each other”.

“That is important for Montenegro, but it’s important for all NATO Allies”, Stolteberg noted.

He added that only small NATO Allies that receive help and as an example he gave NATO investment in infrastructure in Poland.

Speaking about the ratification process of North Macedonia accession protocol, Stoltenberg said that NATO enlargement is a great success story, which helped spreading democracy, stability and prosperity across Europe.

He said that the process of ratification goes quite fast, and expressed expectation that it could be completed by December, when the meeting of NATO leaders will be held in London.
