Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Within the framework of 1000+ project, 160 vouchers have been distributed to the citizens belonging to a priority group, allowing them to borrow money and buy homes under more favourable conditions than in the previous project cycles.
Awarding the vouchers, Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism, Pavle Radulovic, has said that a fourth cycle of the housing project is possible, including even more vouchers.
“In this cycle, we have provided the conditions that are much more favourable than we hoped, by raising the bar high and not giving up,” said Radunovic, adding that the fixed interest rate was at 2.99 percent, two percentage points lower than any other currently available in the market.
According to a press release issued by the PR Centre, he said that the Ministry had tried to indentify the greatest obstacles the citizens faced when buying their homes, in order to make this project more accessible and favourable.
“We have realized that the that they include the loan processing charges, which we reduced by three times in negotiations to 0.3 percent. Ultimately, we have tackled the most difficult challenge for the beneficiaries – their down payments. After long negotiations, we came to an agreement with our partners that no down payment is necessary in this phase,” said Radulovic.
He said that the interest expressed in this project had been great, adding that a total of 741 housing units had been provided in eight municipalities.
