More foreign companies after the EU accession

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – State Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs Angelina Zivkovic has said that Montenegro was committed to improving its transport infrastructure, adding that a greater presence of European companies in the implementation of infrastructure projects is expected after the EU accession.

At a meeting with representatives of a German association for planning and development of road infrastructure, she said that it would be much easier to access the grants for financing of infrastructure projects in Montenegro after the EU accession.

“We hope to ensure a greater presence of European companies through a greater participation of the EU in the projects, and we expect from German companies to express interest in the improvement of cooperation to our mutual satisfaction,” said Zivkovic.

The Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs says in a press release that the German experts were interested in the national legislation related to the planning, development and maintenance of the road infrastructure in Montenegro, the project financing models and the possibility of involvement of foreign companies in their implementation.

They also expressed interest in the construction of the remaining sections of the Bar-Boljare motorway.
