Milosevic and Djurdjic resign

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Universal Capital Bank announced today that its Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer, Velibor Milosevic and Djordje Djurdjic, had resigned.

Milosevic said that he decided to resign because of the circumstances he had been faced with in the previous period.

“My decision is a final and irrevocable moral act aimed at protecting the reputation of Universal Capital Bank, its majority owner and clients,” Milosevic says in a press release.

Djurdjic said that his resignation was a reflection of his personal position based on the moral and professional principles, adding that its purpose was to protect the reputation of Universal Capital Bank, its majority owner and clients.

He added that the decision was expected to contribute to the stability of the banking sector in Montenegro and the Central Bank’s efforts in that field.

President of Atlas Group Dusko Knezevic claims that Milosevic suggested that he bribes the controllers who had been checking the lawfulness of his bank’s operation while he was the CBCG Vice-Governor, while Milosevic denied these allegations.

Djurdjic is under investigation in the Atlas Bank case. He is suspected of belonging to the group accused of forming a criminal organization, money laundering and tax evasion.Longer version of article is available on a link MINA ENGLISH SERVIS
