Growth outlook revised upward

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – In its latest economic growth outlook for Montenegro, the International Monetary Fund revised upward its growth projections for this year to 3.7 percent.

 

In the previous report released in April, the IMF forecast a 3.1 percent GDP growth for Montenegro.

The latest “World Economic Outlook” says that Montenegro’s economy is expected to see a 2.5 percent growth next year, as opposed to the April forecast of 2.4 percent.

The IMF has kept its economic growth outlook for 2023 at three percent.

According to the report, the inflation rate is expected to be at 2.8 percent this year and at two percent in 2019.

As for the current account balance in Montenegro, the IMF expects a 16.8 percent deficit this year, and a 16 percent and a 8.3 percent deficit in 2019 and 2023 respectively.
