Gross insurance premium grows by 13 percent

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Insurance Supervision Agency has said that the gross insurance premium increased by 13 percent year on year in the first six months.

Chairman of the Agency Council Uros Andrijasevic met today with Director of Insurance Supervision at the Financial Market Authority of Austria (FMA), Peter Braumuller.

“Andrijasevic and Braumuller discussed the results achieved in the insurance sectors of Montenegro and Austria in 2018 and since the beginning of this year. They welcomed the progress made in the insurance sectors of the two countries,” says a press release issued by the Agency.

Andrijasevic said that the Agency appreciated the readiness of Austrian regulator to provide the necessary support, particularly in the complex and demanding process of harmonization with the new regulatory framework “Solvency 2” Montenegro would be obliged to apply immediately after the EU accession.

The two authorities agreed to work on amending the Memorandum of Understanding, and on developing many other forms of cooperation, including the implementation of a secondment programme. Longer version of article is available on a link MINA ENGLISH SERVIS
