GDP at 46 percent of EU average

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Statistical Office, Montenegro’s gross domestic product per capita expressed in purchasing power standard was at 46 percent of the EU average last year.

With 253 percent of the European average, Luxembourg has the highest GDP per capita expressed in purchasing power standard in the EU, which was two and a half times above the EU average.

Bulgaria is in the last place, with 49 percent of the EU average.

In the region, Croatia has the highest GDP per capita expressed in purchasing power standard with 62 percent, followed by Montenegro with 46 percent of the EU average.

“Macedonia and Serbia are at 36 percent of the EU average, while the respective GDPs in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania are at 32 percent and 30 percent of the European average,” Monstat says in a press release.
