Podgorica, (MINA) – Diplomatic and consular network significantly contributes to realization of the set national priorities and Montenegro is recognized in the world as the stability factor and a country committed to good neighborly politics, it was stated during the conference of honorary consuls, taking place in Podgorica.
Parliament Speaker Ivan Brajovic said that representing Montenegro and its interests is not just an obligation but also a great honor that is paid to honorary consuls.
He reiterated that Montenegro will soon celebrate 13 years since restoration of its independence, and that following NATO membership, by adopting European standards, Montenegro will formally become a part of the EU.
“The diplomatic and consular network, you are the part of, significantly contributes to realization of the set national priorities. Montenegro is today recognized in the world as the stability factor in its region and a country committed to good neighborly politics, offering active contribution to strengthening of regional cooperation”, said Brajovic.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Srdjan Darmanovic said that Montenegro, as a part of NATO, tends to join institutionally European family and it is its most important foreign policy priority.
“We have been recognized in the international community as a reliable partner which is strongly committed to regional cooperation, promotion of fundamental human rights and sustainable economic development”, said Darmanovic.
He told to the honorary consuls that important infrastructure projects in the field of energetics, transport and tourism positively affect dynamic economic growth, higher employment and living standard.
Minister of Culture Aleksandar Bogdanovic stated that one of the most visible processes, which leaves mark on the development of the modern world, is the process of faster exchange of information, which has its effects in interaction between various cultures.
