Rozaje, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Prime Minister Dusko Markovic has said that the Government is committed to implementing the development projects and developing the northern region in particular, adding that the local administration needs to find a way to respond to the challenges it faces and propose new projects.
At a meeting with senior officials of the local administration of the Rozeje Municipality, Markovic said that the Government strongly supported implementation of the development projects resulting in added value and giving impetus to the national economy.
“The Government’s efforts are focused on what is state commitment – implementation of the development projects. Without development projects, there is no progress. For two years, we have invested huge funds in this. We are focused on the North and on the improvement of citizens’ standard of living,” said Markovic.
According to a press release issued by the Government Public Relations Service, he highlighted the issue of employees of local authorities who do not receive regular salaries.
“With no regular salaries, you cannot motivate employees and have efficient public enterprises,” said Markovic.
Deputy Prime Minister Rafet Husovic requested from the local administration to propose a model for overcoming the current situation, saying that regular salaries at local administration and public enterprises as of 1 January should be a common goal of both national and local authorities.
New projects that are expected to boost the development of business, such as the Business Zone Project, were discussed at the meeting.
Husovic invited the local authorities to launch new projects and, if necessary, get external experts involved, in order to contribute to a faster and better tapping of the resources.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Osman Nurkovic and directors of the public works and inspection authorities Resad Nuhodzic and Alija Kosuta.
