Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – At an inaugural meeting of the Partnership Council for Regional Development, Minister of Economy Dragica Sekulic said that the need to improve coordination of the activities defined by the regional development policy was the reason why this body had been established again.
The first Council meeting, chaired by Sekulic, was attended by almost all members of the Partnership Council.
Sekulic said that she expected an active participation of all members of the Partnership Council necessary to achieve a balanced social and economic development of all municipalities and regions, based on competitiveness, innovation and employment.
The Ministry says in a press release that the meeting was attended by representatives of many local authorities, ministries, other bodies, and nongovernmental sector, who discussed the plans for further development of the Council, giving suggestions for its more efficient functioning.
“The meeting focused on the strategic planning of development at the municipal level,” the press release says.
