Serbia never gave up Montenegro

Podgorica, (MINA) – Belgrade has never come to terms with Montenegro’s independence and is making every effort to provoke chaos with the support of local stakeholders, President of the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia Sonja Biserko has stated.

Biserko believes that Serbia’s relationship towards its neighbours is a return to the 1990s, arguing that the regional relations are currently close to the breaking point.

“The lack of trust of all neighbours towards Serbia is completely justifiable, the most so considering the fact that Belgrade is raising tensions and persistently falsifying and rewriting not only history, but the present reality as well,” Biserko told Pobjeda.

According to her, Serbia is simultaneously trying to destabilize Macedonia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Montenegro, she claims, is the objective that Serbian has never given up on.

“Belgrade has never come to terms with Montenegro’s departure and is making every effort to provoke chaos with the help of local stakeholders. Serbia is not holding back when talking about the position of Serbs in Montenegro, or the Montenegrin statehood. In that respect, Kosovo is used by Belgrade to ‘settle the score’ in a way in Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Biserko stated.
