Motion for Djukanovic’s removal

Podgorica, (MINA) – Democratic Bloc (DF) will propose to the rest of opposition to put forward the motion for removal of president of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic due to, as stated, breach of the Constitution and unworthiness to perform that office.

DF officials Andrija Mandic, Milan Knezevic and Branko Radunovic met on Monday with EU Ambassador to Montenegro Aivo Orav.

Mandic told the press following the meeting that they informed Orav about the initiative they will present to the rest of the opposition.

He explained that 25 signatures are enough to have this initiative become an integral part of the agenda of the parliamentary session, adding that no parliamentary majority can stop it, and that he would not be surprised that explanations why it could not be in the agenda would be found.

Mandic added that they would also ask the Constitutional Court to give its position on the initiative.

“Following the decision of the Constitutional Court, 41 MPs will be enough to remove Djukanovic. It would be sufficient if Ivan Brajovic, or his two MPs, vote together with 39 opposition MPs”, Mandic explained.
