Medojevic gets another imprisonment order

Podgorica, (MINA) – DF MP Nebojsa Medojevic has been issued another order of imprisonment for up to two months, for repeated refusal to testify in a case launched by the Special State Prosecutors Office, the Higher Court has announced.

“By the order of the investigative judge of the Podgorica Higher Court, on a proposal from the Special State Prosecutor’s Office, following a prior fine ordered by the Court’s investigative judge, the imprisonment of witness N.M has been ordered for his repeated refusal to testify in the case initiated by the Special State Prosecutor’s Office,” the Higher Court said in a press statement.

The case in question, the Court explains, has been launched in relation to Medojevic’s allegations, made through press announcements issued by his political party Movement for Change, about the responsibility of Chief Special Prosecutor Milivoje Katnic for the war crimes committed in Cavtat, Croatia, in 1991 and 1992.

“The imprisonment shall continue until witness N.M. agrees to testify or until his testimony becomes unnecessary or until the criminal proceedings are concluded, but for no longer than two months from the day of imprisonment,” the Higher Court said in a press release.
