Podgorica, (MINA) –Montenegro will not break diplomatic relations with Russia due to the ruling in the failed coup case, but will patiently and reasonably strive to elevate the relations to a higher level, Prime Minister Dusko Markovic has said.
Answering to the question of Democratic Front MP Nebojsa Medojevic, Markovic said that there are no risks for peace and stability of the state, nor there will be following reaching the final decision.
He remarked that Medojevic knows better if, in order to avoid facing justice, anyone would reach towards some irrational activities.
“All I know is that the state will and must provide safety to every individual in Montenegro, and for executing the decisions of the national organs. That is the Constitutional requirement, and the government has capacity and decisiveness to follow it”, Markovic claims.
According to him, there has been no claims that Russian national organs participated in the attempted murder of the then PM.
“The government will not break diplomatic relations with the Russian federation, but will patiently and reasonably strive to elevate it to a higher level”, Markovic stressed.
Commenting on Markovic’s response, Medojevic claims that the state is not capable respond to the organized crime.
According to him, Justice Minister Zoran Pazin “came from Sibenik, from Velebit (Croatia) and believes that he can harass mine and Andrija Mandic’s families”.
Markovic responded that Medojevic contradicts himself with such statements, and therefore he does not notice that they are the biggest threat to Montenegro, assessing them as fascistic.
He rejected Medojevic’s claims on instability in Montenegro, and added that Medojevic also contradict himself when speaking about the relations between Montenegro and Russia.
“If Russia was thinking about us in the way you suggest, we would have probably withdrawn our ambassador”, said Markovic, adding that the Russian citizens are investing in Montenegro since it is a destinations that guarantees them the investment and personal freedoms.
