EU funds offer an opportunity to improve performance

Budva, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Chief Negotiator, Aleksandar Drljevic, has said that Montenegrin companies have an opportunity, now more than ever, to improve their performance, particularly benefiting from the available pre-accession funds of the European Union.

According to a press release issued by the Government’s General Secretariat, Drljevic said at the conference focusing on the Balkans and the European Union in the context of a five-year cycle of the Berlin Process, that the accession negotiations, as a long and demanding process, were the best mechanism for capacity development, adoption of European standards, and overall development based on the models of modern European countries.

He added that the purpose of these activities was to ensure a better quality of life for the Montenegrin citizens.

“In addition to the political reforms, which are the backbone of the new approach, Montenegro and other Balkan countries are working hard in the pre-accession process on meeting the economic criteria for the EU membership,” said Drljevic.

According to him, the reforms in the field of economy contribute to the strengthening of the economic sector, improvement of the business environment and preparation for an equal participation in the market of more than €500 million consumers, without any tariff or other import-related restrictions, and with no barriers to free movement of goods, services,
