Podgorica, (MINA) – President Milo Djukanovic has stated that he believes in the capacity of the Parliament’s interim committee that will be dealing with amendments to the election legislation, adding that he does not expect any radical changes.
Djukanovic told the press on Friday that the DPS has supported the formation of the interim committee in order to incorporate some of the remaining suggestions put forward by the OSCE/ODIHR following the elections of 2016 and 2018.
“There is also part of the recommendations from the European Commission’s annual report and we wanted to observe and incorporate those recommendations as well,” the President explained.
According to him, this could not be done last year, as the opposition was not present in the Parliament.
“To our satisfaction, today the opposition is back in the Parliament and we can no longer speak about a boycott,” Djukanovic added.
