DF invites opposition to join anti-government campaign through protests

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Democratic Bloc (DF) has called on others in the opposition to come together and take joint action outside institutions, involving public protests, in order to force the government to resign and create conditions for fair and free elections.

The letter sent to opposition parties, signed by DF leaders Andrija Mandic, Nebojsa Medojevic and Andrija Knezevic, argues that the latest developments have proved that a joint opposition campaign is critical for the process of removing the regime and establishing the rule of law.

“We have witnessed that when the whole opposition, independent media and the civil society work together in solidarity, even for a short period of time, the system is forced to obey the Constitution and law, rather than partisan directives issued by the DPS,” the letter says.

Therefore, the DF officials argue, the opposition should reach an agreement on a joint campaign, which will enable them to exercise similar pressure in all future cases of human rights violations.

“So that we can achieve the necessary objective, to which we all aspire, which is fair and free elections in Montenegro,” the DF said.
