Podgorica, (MINA) – The negative response by the Democratic Montenegro has undermined the Democratic Bloc (DF) initiative for the unification of the entire parliamentary opposition, the DF have said in a press statement.
The DF’s idea, the statement recalls, is for the opposition to organize mass protests in all Montenegrin cities, in order to put pressure on the government to hold the first free and fair elections.
DF officials argue that boycotting the Parliament without concrete actions outside state institutions, such as protests, has not produced any result so far.
“Therefore, as a responsible political party, we have proposed actions similar to those that we have seen in the streets of European capitals, where their regimes have been pressured into meeting the demands of dissatisfied citizens,“ the DF stated.
The DF alliance noted that the response by the Democrats makes it clear that they do not want a joint opposition action, adding that they would meet with others in the opposition, with a view to agreeing on a joint course of action.
