Stronger cooperation possible in different sectors

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Prime Minister Dusko Markovic has said that cooperation between Montenegro and Azerbaijan could be strengthened in several sectors, adding that energy, agriculture and trade are seen as particularly important in this context.

Markovic told Azerbaijani media in Baku that the purpose of his visit and the forum that was organized today to encourage a stronger economic cooperation between the two friendly countries.

“Montenegro and Azerbaijan have very good and friendly relations. We are not only friends and partners, we also understand each other very well when it comes to the national interests,” Markovic said, adding that good bilateral relations should be accompanied by good economic cooperation.

According to a press release issued by the Government, he said that the purpose of his visit to Azerbaijan was to encourage the economic cooperation between the two countries.

Markovic reminded that, with the Portonovi project worth more than €900 million, Azmont Investment was one of the major investors in Montenegro.

“I am positive that this will be a strong incentive for mutual economic cooperation to the benefit of both countries, resulting in a better quality of life for the citizens of Montenegro and Azerbaijan. Good political relations and our partnership provide a strong encouragement to our future economic cooperation,” said Markovic.
