Podgorica, (MINA) – MINA news agency has been selected to participate in Google’s global project Google News Initiative, through which it will have access to advanced Google Cloud services in the period of 18 months, aimed towards development of its information system.
The agency applied in November last year to Google’s call for proposals within their project of support to media in the world.
Google News Initiative has stated that they believe that high quality journalism was important, that it was crucial to secure high quality contents to be recognized on their platforms, which will allow users to find it easier, and that media partner can benefit from it.
Mina news agency is in the process of digital transformation with the end goal of becoming a modern multimedia informative agency which will in its operations and production process use up-to-date technology, while maintaining its distinguished working method, which is aligned with the journalists’ code of conduct.
Mina is a media with high professional standards, which are recognized by Google News Initiative, as well as the donors of our other projects, which goal, along with other goals, is development of the agency and meeting conditions for its permanent sustainability.
Mina was established in March 2001 as a new form of then only Montenegrin news agency Montena Fax.
In 18 years of its work, it has published over 1 million pieces of information through two of our services, Mina and Mina Business.
