Podgorica, (MINA) – The problem of school violence can only be resolved by the contribution of the whole community and the most important instruments include prevention and protection of victims, it was heard at a panel discussion marking the International Children’s Day.
Participants in the panel discussion on school violence, including representatives of the Children’s Parliament of the Capital City, noted that the topic of violence is being discussed more openly and more frequently lately, adding however that a lot more needs to be done in terms of prevention.
“Everybody needs to give their contribution to tackling the problem of school violence. The most important thing is to work on prevention and on adequate protection victims of violence, as well as to work with bullies and witnesses,” representatives of the Children’s Parliament said.
Head of the UNICEF Office in Montenegro Osama Khogali remarked that violence is always a reflection of weakness and that this problem is rarely discussed in developing countries.
He welcomed the fact that the issue is discussed openly and increasingly more often in Montenegro.
