Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Ministry of Economy, the European Union has awarded additional €600,000 for preparation of documentation for a project aimed at strengthening the infrastructures in the digital sector.
The EU previously provided support for this purpose at a meeting of the Steering Committee of the Western Balkans Investment Framework organized in Berlin by the European Commission and the Federal Ministry of Finance of Germany.
“The project ‘Development of Infrastructure for Broadband Internet Access,’ proposed by the Ministry of Economy, will focus on the development of adequate infrastructure for fast and reliable internet for all households, companies, educational and healthcare institutions, in order to support the digital transformation of the society and economy,” says a press release issued by the Ministry.
The Ministry says that the focus was placed on providing support for further development of broadband infrastructure and next generation networks on the whole territory of Montenegro.
