Podgorica, (MINA) – Dialogue on a caretaker government, as the best model of implementation of the legal solutions and control of the electoral processes, should be opened by 15 October at the latest, and it should be constituted simultaneously with the vote on electoral legislation, it was agreed in the meeting between the part of opposition parties.
The meeting, which was initiated by president of the Social Democratic Party Draginja Vuksanovic, was attended by Danilo Saranovic, member of the Electoral Reform Committee on behalf of the Democratic Montenegro, leaders of Demos and URA Miodrag Lekic and Dritan Abazovic, as well as MP and Committee member Nedjeljko Rudovic.
The meeting was not attended by the Democrats’ leader Aleksa Becic and independent MP Aleksandar Damjanovic.
Opposition parties and MP groups which are committed to the dialogue on providing conditions for fair elections, agreed at the meeting that, during the dialogue on electoral reform, they will ground their political opinions on obligation to advocate for a consistent and comprehensive reform of electoral legislation.
They stated in a joint statement that the obligation of opening the dialogue on a caretaker government will be one of their guidelines, as the best model of implementation of legal solutions and control of the electoral process, by 15 October at the latest, as well as its constituting simultaneously with the vote on electoral and other legislation.
The meeting participants agreed on necessity of full depoliticization of the institutions important for free electoral process, in particular Anti-Corruption Agency, RTCG and the State Electoral Commission, including staff changes in those institutions with the goal of providing their professional work and impartiality.
They concluded that the date of the next parliamentary and local elections should be set, which should be held in all municipalities on the same day.
