Podgorica, (MINA) – The Constitutional Court initiated on Wednesday a procedure for assessment of constitutionality of the provision of the Criminal Procedure Code which allows for imprisonment of a witness who refuses to testify and ordered immediate suspension of the coercive measure of imprisonment imposed against MPs Nebojsa Medojevic and Milan Knezevic.
The Court, according to Mina sources, has adopted interim measures for the suspension of the decisions delivered by the Appellate Court and the Higher Court, which ordered the imprisonment of the DF MPs.
The suspension of the decision will remain in effect until the final decision by the Constitutional Court.
Nebojsa Medojevic has been in prison since 30 November, while Knezevic has remained in parliament building in order to avoid imprisonment.
