Podgorica, (MINA) – Montenegro will, within its capacities, continue to support transformation based on accelerating the implementation of goals and tasks of sustainable development, said President Milo Djukanovic.
Speaking at the Summit on Sustainable Development Goals in New York he said that it is an opportunity to express political will for achieving the defined goals but also for sharing practical experiences.
Djukanovic said that he is certain that future activities must be planned with utmost care and that they should include continuous engagement of all interested subjects in generating new ideas for achieving the vision of sustainable development.
“In accordance with the transformation character of the Agenda, Montenegro is committed to implementing harmonized, integrated, long-term sustainable development measures”, said he.
According to him, Montenegro’s potential in the context of overflowing of both positive and negative effects of national responses is small in global context.
“We believe that optimal mechanisms of exchange of national achievements data must be established so that global reports can reflect the objective state of affairs”, said Djukanovic.
He called for the strengthening of those exchange mechanisms.
