Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Ministry of Finance has launched the Energy Efficient Home programme, aimed at reducing the heating costs and increasing comfort for the Montenegrin households.
The Ministry says in a press release that the purpose of the programme is to significantly decrease the carbon footprint of households and to develop the biomass heating market in Montenegro.
“The programme envisages an attractive and sustainable financial mechanism for application of energy efficiency measures by the Montenegrin households,” the Ministry says in a press release.
The Ministry has provided €120,000 for the implementation of this programme, to be spend for subsidization of interest and processing costs of the loans extended for purchase and installation of modern biomass heating systems, thermal insulation of residential buildings and energy efficient doors and windows.
“The citizens will have an opportunity to apply for interest-free loans of up to €8,000, to be repaid within six years,” the press release says.
The programme is implemented by the Ministry, in partnership with the companies Mikromont, Home Systems, Plam Inzenjering, Veneta Plamen, Roaming Montenegro, and with Lovcen banka, Prva banka and Atlas banka.
