Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Podgorica branches of Societe Generale Montenegro, Hipotekarna and NLB banks have paid a total of €10.5 million in guaranteed deposits so far to 453 depositors of Invest Bank Montenegro (IBM), which is undergoing bankruptcy proceedings.
The Deposit Protection Fund says in a press release that this amount accounts for 47 percent of the total guaranteed deposits it is obliged to pay.
According to the press release, there were no complaints related to the payment, which started on 28 January at 10 a.m.
The Fund is obliged to pay a total of 22.58 million to 2,730 IBM depositors, 2,340 of whom are citizens.
In early January, the Central Bank’s Council decided to revoke the IBM’s licences and launch the bankruptcy proceedings for this financial company.
