Gross tax revenues €3 billion

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Director of the Tax Administration Miomir M. Mugosa has said that the gross tax revenues collected in the previous three years amounted to €3 billion, €122 million more than planned for this period.

At a meeting with President of the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG) Vlastimir Golubovic, held on Wednesday, he presented the effects of implementation of the Tax Debt Management Plan, which has resulted in a €167 million decrease in the tax debt.

“A total of €45 million has been collected through debt reprogramming,” said Mugosa.

He announced that this debt repayment mechanism would be used in future as well, while the tax authority would intensify the activities related to initiation of bankruptcy proceedings for taxpayers whose decisions on debt reprogramming have been cancelled.

“We expect that the tax debt reduction will continue at a pace of €15 million to €20 million a year,” said Mugosa.

According to him, Montenegro’s economy has a serious fiscal potential.
