Podgorica, (MINA) – Serbian citizens who arrived on a charter flight from Belgrade to Tivat on Wednesday morning, 87 of them, were returned to Serbia after being banned from entering Montenegro for security reasons, the Police Administration and the National Security Agency (ANB) announced.
The police recalls that intensified activities have been carried out ahead of the EU-Western Balkans Summit, and that a charter flight carrying 87 Serbian citizens was held on Wednesday morning at Tivat Airport for detailed security checks of the passengers and the purpose for their visit.
“Following conducting the procedure and official activities, 87 male individuals were banned from entering Montenegro by the decision of the Police Administration, in line with the Law on Foreigners, after which they were returned to Serbia on the same flight”, the press release of the Police Administration and ANB stated.

The press release emphasized that the Police Administration and ANB officers collected operational and intelligence data that unequivocally indicate that the presence of these individuals in Montenegro would pose a risk to internal and national security.
“The measures are supported by the fact that these individuals attended numerous high security risk gatherings, as well as that some of them were registered for committing criminal and misdemeanors offences with elements of violence”, the press release says.

The police also submitted photographs of the items found, among which are a banner with the inscription “Serbia wins”, a long-distance communication device and a marine radio station.
The police also confiscated two buses with Serbian license plates, suspected to have been sent with the purpose of transporting individuals arriving from Belgrade, while further checks are underway to determine all the circumstances of the case.
