Podgorica, (MINA) – The government had allocated EUR 3 million for the organization of more than ten events across Montenegro, as part of the celebration of 20th anniversary of the restoration of Montenegro’s independence, Prime Minister Milojko Spajic said, adding that all the details will be soon made public on the government’s website.
Responding to a question by leader of the Democratic People’s Party Milan Knezevic on the amount spent on the organization of the Independence Day celebration, he said that the celebration was phenomenal.
“Twenty years of the restoration of independence was celebrated with dignity and there has never been more celebration and positive energy. This makes me happy, because we had it enough living in dark times, where we were all against everyone, scrutinizing people’s nationality, religion. A new time has come for all citizens to rejoice”, stated Spajic during the Prime Minister’s Questions in the Parliament.
Speaking about the Independence Day celebration, he stated that it included several locations.
“It cost EUR 3 million. Soon we will get the details of how much has been paid, and we will publish it on the Government’s website, transparently and completely. Once the celebration is over, all the information will be available on the website, on June 4 we have a dinner which is also part of the festivities”, Spajic said.
He congratulated on the agreement reached with the citizens of Botun.
“When we, as a state, stood behind all previous agreements, we stood behind every promised word that the mayor and ministers gave”, Spajic said.
Knezevic said that “there is no agreement with the residents of Botun”. “There were about three or four citizens of Botun who thought they had the right to negotiate on behalf of 16,000 citizens of Zeta”, Knezevic said.
