Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Government has authorized its members in the Social Council to propose a 15 percent increase in the minimum wage to around €222.
Prime Minister Dusko Markovic has said that the purpose of this decision is to improve the living standard for the citizens with the lowest income, and to alleviate the tax burden on the employers.
“We can adopt this decision thanks to the encouraging results achieved by consistent implementation of the economic policy,” Markovic said.
According to him, the Government will continue to carry out all of its activities in communication with the stakeholders, social partners, entrepreneurs, representatives of professional associations, science and civil sector.
He announced that the Government would remain committed to taking all planned measures aimed at ensuring further economic growth and development, improvement of the living standards and job creation.
