Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The total lending declined by 2.7 percent on a monthly level in Montenegro amounting to €2.95 billion in the first four months of this year.
According to the Central Bank (CBCG), the total lending saw a year-on-year increase of 4.3 percent.
At the end of April, the loan to deposit ratio increased to 0.89 compared with the same period of 2018.
Retail and corporate loans accounted for 78.9 percent of the total lending.
At the end of April, the total deposits decreased by 3.2 percent on a monthly level to €3.32 billion, while they saw a one percent year-on-year increase.
Term deposits accounted for 32.3 percent and demand deposits for 67.6 percent of the total deposits. The remaining 0.1 percent of the funds was deposited on escrow accounts.
The total deposits of citizens amounted to €1.2 billion at the end of April, 3.8 less than the month before.
Compared with the same month of 2018, the deposits of citizens decreased by 2.8 percent.
Out of all deposits made by citizens, term deposits accounted for 42 percent, and demand deposits for 58 percent.
