Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordic, this year’s summer tourist season could be among the most successful ever, based on current indicators.

“According to data as at June 18, the number of tourists in Montenegro is 12.66 percent higher than in the same period last year and 15.62 percent higher than in the record year of 2019,” Kordic said in Parliament while responding to a question from New Serbian Democracy MP Jelena Bozovic.

Bozovic asked about the Ministry of Tourism’s expectations for the tourist season and the measures being planned and implemented to improve Montenegro’s tourism offering.

Kordić said that a survey showed that more than 80 percent of Montenegrin businesses were satisfied with the pre-season period and that bookings for the peak season were very promising.

These are the results of the policies and activities we have been implementing over the past two years, and they reflect intensive work and cooperation with our business community. This year is not an easy one and is burdened by serious geopolitical developments that significantly affect tourism. We recognized these challenges immediately and responded accordingly,” Kordic said.

She added that maintaining a good balance between price and quality, as well as offering fair value to tourists, is an important element of the overall success of Montenegro’s tourism season.
