€100,000 awarded to support women’s entrepreneurship

Bar, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Municipality of Bar today formalized cooperation with 28 women entrepreneurs from Bar by signing agreements on the allocation of funds under this year’s women’s entrepreneurship support programme, for which €100,000 has been earmarked from the local budget.

“Recognized as a leader in efforts to systematically improve the conditions for entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on businesses established by women, the local administration has supported a total of 143 businesses through this programme since 2019, allocating more than €550,000 for that purpose,” the Municipality of Bar said in a press release.

Mayor of Bar Dusan Raicevic said that the local administration has been signing agreements with female entrepreneurs from Bar for eight consecutive years, and that these entrepreneurs have become part of a strong and recognizable economic community that the municipality continues to build.

“Women entrepreneurs in Bar have demonstrated courage, determination, and a clear vision in launching and developing their businesses. It is particularly encouraging that around 85 percent of the supported businesses remain active and successful, which confirms the value of programmes such as this and our commitment to creating new economic opportunities and value together. The Municipality of Bar remains focused on empowering women, as evidenced by more than half a million euros in direct support provided through this programme,” Raicevic said.

He added that, in addition to financial assistance, the local administration will continue to provide other forms of support to women entrepreneurs in Bar, including promoting their products and services, organizing professional training programs, facilitating networking opportunities, and enabling participation in trade fairs and other events important for business development.
