Podgorica, (MINA) – Podgorica Mayor Sasa Mujovic said on Monday that the Democratic People’s Party (DNP) is mistaken if it believes it can propose a candidate for the Capital City Assembly chair, while ignoring other obligations arising from the coalition agreement.
DNP announced earlier on Monday morning that the position of the Capital Assembly chair should belong to them.
After the meeting with the residents of Botun, Mujovic told reporters that the coalition agreement on the city administration is clear and that, according to the document, the Alliance for the Future of Podgorica (ZBPG), of which the DNP is a member, nominates the chair of the Capital City Assembly, while the coalition of the Europe Now Movement (PES) and the Democrats nominate the mayor.
“But if the DNP believed that they could propose and elect the Assembly chair, while disregarding the rest of the coalition agreement, that they would only selectively implement the coalition agreement as it suits them – they would be badly mistaken. Then they should look for a partner somewhere else”, stated Mujovic.
