Spajic: Descendants of the Petrovic Njegos dynasty finally have a deserving home in Montenegro

Podgorica, (MINA) – After the castle on Krusevac has been restituted to the descendants of the Petrovic Njegos dynasty through amendments to the Law on the Status of the Petrovic Njegos Dynasty, they finally have a deserving home in Montenegro, said Prime Minister Milojko Spajic.

The Parliament of Montenegro adopted on Monday amendments to the Law on the Status of the Petrovic Njegos Dynasty, stipulating that the dynasty descendants will be granted ownership of the Krusevac castle in Podgorica with the associated land, while the reconstruction and furnishing of the building will be financed from the capital budget of Montenegro.

“Through the amendments to the Law on the Dynasty Status, we have restituted the Krusevac castle to the Petrovics and thus finally and fully rectified the long-standing institutional debt, primarily towards Prince Nikola, who had been affirming Montenegro with pride and dignity around the world for decades”, Spajic wrote on the X social network.

He emphasized that starting from next year, the state would support the work of the Petrovic Njegos Foundation with EUR 100,000 annually.
