Members of Judicial Council elected from among the ranks of judges

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Conference of Judges has elected judges Milenka Seka Zizic, Mirjana Vlahovic, Veljko Radovanovic and Mirza Ademovic as members of the Judicial Council from the ranks of judges, the Supreme Court announced.
Zizic serves as a Supreme Court judge, Vlahovic is a judge at the Court of Appeal, Radovanovic is a judge of the Podgorica High Court, while Ademovic is a judge of Podgorica Basic Court.
According to the press release from the Supreme Court, the election process for representatives of judiciary in this constitutional body, which plays a key role in preserving the independence and integrity of the judiciary, has thus been completed.
Addressing the participants of the Conference, Supreme Court president Valentina Pavlicic pointed out that this is one of the most significant moments in internal judicial administration and a direct expression of the constitutional independence of the judiciary.
She assessed that the elected candidates were not only individuals chosen by their colleagues, but chosen based on values that should be the basis of the work of the Judicial Council in the next four years, through their expertise, integrity, responsibility, professional courage and commitment to the interests of the judiciary as a whole.
“She pointed out that the Judicial Council, as a constitutional guarantor of judicial independence, plays a crucial role in preserving the professional integrity of the judiciary, strengthening public trust and responding to the challenges facing the judiciary”, the press release said.
