Podgorica, (MINA) – With dedicated work, results and responsibility, Montenegro will become the 28th EU member by 2028, said Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic, adding that the goal is within reach.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said after the two-day European Council Summit Brussels, that Montenegro is practically ready to join the EU.

“After the successful EU-Western Balkans Summit and the first visit by a German chancellor to Montenegro, the clearest message yet from official Berlin has arrived: Montenegro is practically ready for EU membership”, said Milatovic in a post on the X social network.

According to him, the goal is within reach.

“With dedicated work, results and responsibility, we will become the 28th EU member state by 2028”, said Milatovic.
