Spajic: Greece will do everything to help Montenegro join the EU in the second half of next year

Podgorica, (MINA) – Greece will do everything it can to help Montenegro join the European Union (EU) in the second half of next year, during its presidency of the Council of the EU, Prime Minister Milojko Spajic said.
Spajic wrote on the X social network that he discussed with Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Gerapetritis the current pace of closing of negotiating chapters and the next steps towards Montenegro’s full EU membership.
“We agree that it is almost existentially important for Europe today to show a success story through Montenegro”, said Spajic.
He said that the partnership between the two countries continues for the benefit of their citizens.
“We are very grateful to our historic, sincere and reliable friends for their continued and strong support, and with a shared vision of the European future, we will continue to improve our partnership in economy, investments, culture, science, for the benefit of our citizens and in the interest of an even closer ties between our countries”, Spajic said.
