Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Monteput, nearly 1.38 million motor vehicles passed through the Sozina tunnel since the beginning of the year. 

The tunnel was used by 4.14 million vehicles last year, 3.76 million in 2024, and 3.5 million vehicles in 2023.  

The Sozina tunnel was opened in July 2005. Its construction has cost around €74 million, out of €50 million was provided by Montenegro and €24 million from a loan extended by the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The tunnel is 4,190 metres long and connects the coastal region with the central part of Montenegro.
