Over 40,000 tourists in Montenegro
- Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to unofficial data provided to the National Tourism Organization (NTO) by local tourist boards, there were 40,790 tourists in Montenegro last Thursday, 10.9 percent more than in the same period last year.
Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to unofficial data provided to the National Tourism Organization (NTO) by local tourist boards, there were 40,790 tourists in Montenegro last Thursday, 10.9 percent more than in the same period last year.
The data also shows a 25.58 percent increase compared to the same period in 2019.
“According to the same data, over 20,000 tourists are staying in Montenegrin hotels, 26 percent more compared to last year and 24 percent more than compared to 2019, with the highest number of tourists staying in Budva, Herceg Novi, and Bar,” NTO stated in a press release.
Total revenues going to the state budget from that source, which includes the tourist tax, accommodation tax, and membership fees, collected from the beginning of the year up to Tuesday, amounted to €3.71 million, up 4.25 yearcent year on year.
The press release states that the NTO continues intensive promotional activities in foreign markets, aimed at further promoting Montenegro as a competitive year-round tourist destination.
