Montenegro strengthens ties with the United Kingdom

Vukicevic met with McKen to discuss further improving air connectivity between the two countries, as well as the growing presence of British airlines in the Montenegrin market.
Vukicevic stated that Airports of Montenegro recently made significant progress in cooperation with the UK-based carriers EasyJet and Jet2.com, whose seasonal flights have been extended beyond the high summer season to cover the entire summer schedule from the end of March to the end of October. This expansion has resulted in record numbers of British passengers at Tivat Airport.
It was also concluded at the meeting that Podgorica has been connected year-round with London for many years through the low-cost carrier Ryanair, ensuring a stable and affordable link with one of the most important European markets.
In the first seven months of this year, EasyJet and Jet2.com each recorded a 27 percent increase compared to the previous year, confirming that the new incentive scheme approved by the Ministry of Transport is already yielding visible results.
Vukicevic added that confirmed flight schedules for the next year already indicate that the coming year will be even more successful for Montenegrin airports.
