Podgorica, (MINA) - The citizens of Montenegro have high expectations of and believe in the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump, especially regarding his efforts to achieve peace in parts of the world affected by wars, announced Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandic.

According to a press release from his office, during his visit to the United States of America (USA), Mandic had a series of meetings in New York and Washington, which scopes and outcomes will be reviewed, monitored and analyzed in detail in the coming days.

The press release states that, during a meeting with Republican Party Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, one of Trump’s close associates, who is recognized in Congress for her excellent knowledge of foreign policy, Mandic highlighted the current position of Montenegro as a certain next EU member state.

“On that occasion, he emphasized that cooperation with the USA is of particular importance to us, and noted that the citizens of Montenegro have great expectations of and trust the Trump administration, especially regarding the efforts to achieve peace in parts of the world that are unfortunately affected by war conflicts”, the press release said.

The press release states that at all the meetings, one of the most important topics was potential investments that interested companies from the USA may launch in Montenegro in the coming period.
